How To Reduce Your Exposure To Toxic Chemicals In Beauty Products In Four Easy Steps   by Emily Jacques

These days, maintaining your beauty comes at a high price-the price of your health. Most beauty products such as makeup, lotions and shampoos contain chemicals that have been linked to everything from allergies to organ dysfunction.

Because the skin absorbs whatever is put on it, these dangerous substances eventually make their way into your blood stream and cells. Ugh.

But you can maintain your beauty routine without exposing yourself to such toxins. The following four steps will help you make the transition into more natural beauty techniques that improve your health while you improve your looks.

1. Replace products that contain numerous hazardous chemicals with similar more natural items. You can do this either as you run out of each item, or immediately, depending on cost and how hazardous the ingredients of the conventional items are (the website http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com provides hazard ratings for many products as well as individual ingredients).

2. Ask yourself, “Do I really need this?” Most facial cleansers (especially those promising to make you look younger), for example, actually don’t make a whole lot (if any) difference in the appearance of your skin. And you can easily replace body lotions with coconut oil and get fantastic moisturizing results.

3. Consider switching to mineral makeup. As long as you put a moisturizer on before the makeup, mineral makeup will stay on all day and give you healthy, natural tone. Make sure you read the ingredient labels of popular brands of mineral makeup, as some contain hazardous chemicals in addition to the natural minerals. But most of the time, replacing conventional makeup with mineral makeup considerably reduces your exposure to toxic chemicals.

4. Use homemade skin care recipes. As I mentioned above, coconut oil works great as a moisturizer. Our family uses a liquid hand Soap Made of only Liquid Castile Soap and glycerin. Within just a minute of searching you can find several websites solely dedicated to providing homemade skin care recipes.

These four steps will enable you to be beautiful, naturally. And after making the transition, you will have significantly reduced your chances of developing all manner of degenerative diseases.
